Getting around Los Angeles by Helicopter during the 405 Freeway Closures!

We have been receiving a lot of interest in travel by helicopter for flights in and around Los Angeles during the 405 freeway closures or also known as "carmageddon".

We all know how heavy traffic can be in Los Angeles; it doesn't matter what time of day or what day of the week it is - there's always some form of grid-lock on the freeways in Southern California - period. However, starting at 10pm July 15, the San Diego (405) Freeway will be shut down in both directions from Getty Center Drive to the 101 Freeway, a 10 mile stretch, for 53 hours, so that the south side of the Mulholland Bridge can be demolished. The freeway section is expected to reopen at 5 a.m. July 18, according to Metro officials. There is no doubt that Los Angeles motorists will be in some form of gridlock during this weekend. Los Angeles traffic officials have identified the "hot spots" and are advising motorists to stay home. That is not realistic for many who need to travel to and from the surrounding areas like Antelope, Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys into Downtown Los Angeles and the Westside of Los Angeles and Beach communities.

Canyon Roads will not be an option either. Some "hot spots" to avoid during the 405 Closure are canyon roads such as Sepulveda Boulevard, Beverly Glen Boulevard, Benedict Canyon Drive, Coldwater Canyon Drive, Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Cahuenga Boulevard as well as Topanga Cyn Boulevards. Most of these will only be open to residents. As an alternative call Group 3 Aviation for a helicopter charter.

Fly a Helicopter and see experience Los Angeles from a unique perspective - from the air!

We will be offering a special discount for customers booking for the weekend of July 16-17, 2011.
